Overview
The task of the Library is to operate a scientific information database that supports the research activities of the Institute of Hungarian Studies. The Library collects, organises and makes available literature, source publications and other scientific documents related to the origins, history, language, traditions and cultural heritage of the Hungarian people.
Its objective is to provide state-of-the-art research support infrastructure and high-quality information services to the researchers of the Institute.
Key Strategic Tasks
The main strategic tasks of the Library are:
- the continuous expansion of the collection of literature on Hungarian prehistory and related academic fields;
- the development of digital library services and scientific databases;
- preserving the library bequest of Professor Kornél Bakay, archaeologist;
- acquiring and integrating additional private libraries; and
- continuously improving researcher access and scientific information services.
