Mission of the Research Centre
The mission of the Research Centre for Archaeology is to trace, explore, study and properly document archaeological sites linked to Hungarian prehistory and origin, as well as archaeological sites dating back to the Árpád Age, Middle and Early Modern Ages relevant from the point of view of the Hungarian nation in the Carpathian Basin and Eurasia. It is equally important to disseminate the results deriving from the scientific assessment of the above sites with a special focus on young generations.
Tasks of the Research Centre
The main task of the Research Centre for Archaeology is to trace, explore, study and properly document archaeological sites linked to Hungarian prehistory and origin, as well as archaeological sites dating back to the Árpád Age, Middle and Early Modern Ages relevant from the point of view of the Hungarian nation in the Carpathian Basin and Eurasia. Another task is to process and publish the archaeological finds and scientific values of the priority sites selected during the researches and to present them to the general public in exhibitions, within the framework of research projects and presentations.
Another task of the Research Centre for Archaeology is to trace the archaeological heritage of equestrian peoples that can be linked to the Hungarians, to document and publish the results and to raise awareness about the achievements in the field of archaeology.
The Research Centre for Archaeology deems it an important task to professionally supervise and promote archaeological exhibitions, events and demonstration centres organized or to be organized by other organization on special request.
Objectives of the Research Centre
The objective of the Research Centre for Archaeology is to inform the whole society about the relevant results studied and discussed by archaeology and its complimentary disciplines in order to enhance national identity and knowledge especially among young people.
