ARS ET VIRTUS - CROATIA-HUNGARY: 800 YEARS OF SHARED CULTURAL HERITAGE

The 800 years of Croatian-Hungarian relations have been defined by the authority and dignity of the apostolic kingdom, the unity of the Holy Crown personifying the fullness of power, the unity of the conglomerate, which acted in one direction despite the divided forms of power and the system of extensive autonomies in the Kingdom of Hungary, said Prof. Dr Miklós Kásler at the opening of the temporary exhibition titled "ARS ET VIRTUS" in the Hungarian National Museum.

Director General Gábor Horváth-Lugossy and Deputy Director General for Science Tamás László Vizi also participated in the exhibition aimed at the comprehensive presentation of the Croatian-Hungarian cultural and cultural-historical relations. The exhibition was organised in cooperation with the Hungarian National Museum and the Galerija Klovićevi dvori in Zagreb.

The exhibition, which presents the history of the two peoples, their interconnection and their common past through hundreds of artifacts, was opened by Prof. Dr Miklós Kásler, Minister of Human Capacities and Dr Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Minister of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia.

The opening speech of the Minister provided an extensive historical overview. The main points of his speech were: the concept of Sacra Corona, the unique Apostolic Kingdom of St Stephen, and connected to the latter, the ideas of soverignity, integrity, equality and reciprocity.
